Banyuhay Aotearoa successfully held an online forum to kick-off Buwan ng Wika (National Language Month) on the 1st of August.
Watch the video here:
During the forum, the audience was able to hear from 3 remarkable guest speakers who shared their thoughts about the importance of language for migrant communities.
Jade was able to share how she brought community together to be able to share and celebrate the Filipino language, culture and traditions.
Manolo shared his thoughts about the importance of having a national language, and how it relates to his experience growing up as part of the Quezon household.
Jan was able to share very helpful tips to be able to successfully raise bilingual children in the diaspora.
We look forward to hosting more online events like this one and get more participation from our migrant community here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
