About Banyuhay Aotearoa
“Banyuhay” is a coined word which means “Bagong Anyo ng Buhay” or new form of life. This encapsulates the new life Filipino migrants discover and establish in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Banyuhay Aotearoa is a registered Charitable Trust incorporated in February 2023. We aim to enrich, engage and empower the Filipino migrant community in New Zealand, by organising events and forums to learn about Philippine history, culture and current events. We do all these with the support of our growing network of volunteers, and in partnership with our allied organisations and groups.
We currently have an active presence in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Our Vision
A vibrant, well-informed Filipino community in Aotearoa that is empowered, connected, and respected as a valued part of New Zealand society
Banyuhay Aotearoa Charitable Trust exists to champion Filipinos in Aotearoa by providing holistic, accessible support, and by introducing and celebrating Filipino culture to both the Filipino community and wider Aotearoa. We will foster partnerships with diverse stakeholders to build a trusted charity that operates with integrity, transparency, and nationwide reach. Our mission is to empower migrants toward long-term wellbeing, connectedness, and opportunity, with a future where a Filipino presence is fully understood, valued, and self-sustaining.
