Santacruzan for a Cause '24

Join us on Saturday, the 25th of May at Māngere Arts Centre in Māngere, Auckland for a Filipino cultural showcase to remember!

This is a free ticketed event and is open to the public.

BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO WALK-IN ON SATURDAY AND REGISTER AT THE DOOR IF YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO BOOK TICKETS.

SANTACRUZAN PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Doors open at 12nn with vendor stalls organised by Tiendecity. Those attending the event are invited to check out the different booths that offer various crafts and food.

The main program will kick-off at 1pm with the Harana Singing Contest. Watch as our lineup of crooners serenade you with OPM songs performed a capella or with an acoustic background. Registration for the singing contest is still on-going until the 23rd of May.

Audiences will be treated to a fashion show which features different terno attire by Likha NZ, that 's very reminiscent of the Spanish colonial era.

Immediately after the fashion show, the Santacruzan program proper will begin. It will start with the coronation of all our title holders facilitated by no other than Philippine Ambassador to NZ H.E. Kira Azucena, Philippine Honorary Consul General in Auckland from 2008 to 2012 Emilie Shi, and Ms Philippines New Zealand 2023 Katharina Weischede.

The event culminates with the highly-anticipated sagala procession which commemorates the discovery of the True Cross by Queen Helena of Constantinople and her son, Constantine the Great. The True Cross is said to be the one Jesus was crucified on.

There will also be special musical and dance performances during the program. It's going to be a memorable event to experience with the whole family!
