TJ Monterde's Sarili Nating Mundo Concert in Auckland: Bayanihan in Harmony

Updated: 2 days ago

Pre-Concert: The Road to the Show

Banyuhay Aotearoa was chosen to be ABS-CBN Global's On-Ground Marketing Partner!

Weeks before the concert, Banyuhay Aotearoa volunteers were already on the move — giving out flyers and posters around Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland to spread the word. Thanks to our community partner, Jade-Ceres Munoz of Filipino Market NZ for letting us promote it in her events. It was a true Bayanihan effort from our volunteer team, who worked tirelessly to reach fellow Filipinos and build excitement for the show.

This initiative was not just about promoting a concert — it was about connecting with our community and showcasing how Filipinos in Aotearoa come together to support something meaningful.

During the Concert: Music, Magic, and Bayanihan in Action

Concert night was unforgettable! Banyuhay Aotearoa proudly manned a booth at the venue, sharing our mission and connecting with hundreds of concertgoers who dropped by before the show.

But what truly made this concert extra special was the spontaneous act of Bayanihan led by KZ Tandingan. In the middle of the concert, she agreed to do the viral Budots dance challenge — but only if the audience would donate to help earthquake victims in Cebu and Davao.

In true Filipino spirit, the crowd responded instantly. Some gave cash, others scanned QR codes, and together, ₱100,544.26 was raised right then and there. It was a heartwarming moment where New Zealand-based Filipinos showed that even from abroad, they can support kababayans back home — all while enjoying a concert full of joy and energy.

SALAMAT NEW ZEALAND! You showed up and put our tiny corner of the world on full display in the best way possible. 🫶🏽

Acknowledgements and Gratitude

We’re deeply grateful to our volunteers for their dedication, and to Tim Navarro for leading this initiative, supported by Becky Buada's brilliant marketing ideas. Everyone came together to make this opportunity a success.

Maraming salamat to ABS-CBN Global and TFC Australia, New Zealand & The Pacific for trusting Banyuhay Aotearoa to be part of this meaningful experience. We’ve gained valuable lessons and memories that will help us serve the Filipino migrant community even better in the future.
